Kochi Metro Rail Limited proposed changing its name to Keralam Metro Rail Limited as the organisation plans to expand urban transport projects beyond Kochi. Chief Minister V. D. Satheesan said the government is not considering the name change and noted that the proposal was made without prior consultation.
